The Smart Awards SA004 Abrasive Wheel training course provides learners with the knowledge and basic skills to safely use abrasive wheels. The accreditation also enables learners to gain knowledge of compliance with health and safety legislation and introduces them to the hazards and risks involved with abrasive wheels operation.

In relation to abrasive wheels, PUWER 98 (The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998) requires, among other things, that all machinery is suitable for its intended use and is properly maintained, and that employees, including those using, mounting and managing the operation of abrasive wheels, are fully informed and properly trained in their safe use.
